We are receiving new reports of scam emails from the so-called Chinaregistry claiming that you are infringing on a trademark in China. (This scam is actually around for quite some time, but we did not see any recent reports. Until now.)
The emails look like this:
(Please forward this to your CEO, because this is urgent. Thanks)
We are the domain name registration service company in China. On Feb 26, 2019, we received an application from Kaijing Ltd requested “yourbrandname” as their internet keyword and China (CN) domain names (yourbrandname.cn [http://yourbrandname.cn], yourbrandname.com.cn [http://yourbrandname.com.cn], yourbrandname.net.cn [http://yourbrandname.net.cn], yourbrandname.net.cn [http://yourbrandname.org.cn]). But after checking it, we find this name conflict with your company name or trademark. In order to deal with this matter better, it’s necessary to send email to you and confirm whether this company is your business partner in China?
These Chinaregistry scammers are trying to sell you domain registrations and “Brand Protection” products for inflated prices.
You can safely ignore their emails. As always, please do NOT click on any links in theses kinds of emails.
